The Women's Initiative of United Hatzalah unites women worldwide under the shared mission to save lives in Israel. We support the training and equipment of female medics in Israel, and our main goal is to increase United Hatzalah’s Women's Division to 1,000 female medics by 2025.
To attain this goal, we aim to recruit and train female community members through a rigorous 180-hour medic training course recognized by Israel's Ministry of Health. This certification is effecting positive social change for women across the country by equipping these volunteers with the knowledge, experience and confidence required to act swiftly, competently, and responsibly when faced with any type of medical emergency.
Trainees are required to pass written and practical exams, with an additional 20 hours of ambulance staffing, as well as completing an initiation period that includes 100 supervised calls before becoming fully-fledged United Hatzalah volunteers.
The cost to support, train, and equip a new female medic who will become a critical member of the Women’s Initiative is CDN $12,000.
Your support will enable her to assist 250 or more people annually while also providing this courageous woman with employment skills and opportunities.
