In response to the increase in terrorist attacks across Israel and the deteriorating security situation, with rockets launched towards Israel from Gaza and Lebanon, we are making an urgent appeal for support for the immediate purchase of medical equipment and protective vests for our volunteers. Our goal is to raise $1 million to purchase trauma kits, hemostatic bandages, tourniquets, more protective vests, and to fund additional training. It is critical that we make sure the volunteers have everything they need during this wave of increased attacks and violence to continue going out and responding to medical emergencies. Please consider supporting this emergency fund in support of United Hatzalah volunteers.
Just two weeks ago, one of our volunteers, Yaron Shif, was seriously injured while approaching the terror attack by the beach in Tel Aviv. He was very close to the scene as the terrorist rammed into innocent civilians, killing one tourist. He rushed there in order to save others. All the cars stopped for him, but he was hit by a motorcyclist speeding towards Jaffa. He flew into the air and was injured badly. Thankfully, he is now recovering, and we wish him a refuah shlema. It was the protective vest and helmet he was wearing that probably saved his life. Help us make sure that all volunteers have the equipment to protect themselves as they answer the call to help others.

Founded in 2006, United Hatzalah has grown to become the largest independent, non-profit, nationally recognized and fully-volunteer emergency medical services (EMS) organization in Israel, responding to over 2,000 emergency calls a day. United Hatzalah's 6,500 medics, paramedics, and doctors create a web of emergency first responders, each connected to a GPS-based dispatch system which, together with our innovative transportation solutions, provides lifesaving aid faster than any other EMS organization in the world, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
United Hatzalah has democratized access to emergency medical services by providing its services free of charge and has improved victim outcomes by getting first responders to the scene of an emergency three times faster than an ambulance. Our volunteers, spotted at every medical emergency, have been dubbed 'Angels in Orange' after their trademark orange vests.
