Sholom Loved Saving Lives and Loved Israel

We Are Honored to Continue His Lifesaving Mission in The Country He Loved

Message to sponsors:

Ambulances respond to emergencies. Cars are often already on-scene or nearby. How can we have the best of both worlds? In a word, an Ambucar.

Ambulances are dispatched from fixed stations to often distant locations. Personal cars are part of the fabric of our daily life. Imagine having a personal car with all the lifesaving equipment carried by an ambulance. That is the vision that drives the United Hatzalah Ambucar fleet.

Earlier this week, on his way to work, a United Hatzalah volunteer was in the car with his wife. She was taking him to the train station so that he could continue his trip from his home to Jerusalem. As they were driving down highway 444, a serious motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred right in front of them. Our responder jumped into action, grabbing his vest from the car, however, he did not have a full medical kit in his wife's car. Thankfully, due to his training and the equipment he had on scene, our United Hatzalah volunteer was able to render initial intervention and stabilize the patient until additional responders and an ambulance arrived.

Now, imagine the same scenario, except this time our United Hatzalah volunteer was driving to work in a fully equipped Ambucar. There is so much more he would have been able to do!

You never know when an emergency will happen. We want our responders to be fully available, with ALL the equipment they need at ANY time! We want our volunteers to drive their vehicles to work. We want them to take the vehicles to pick up dinner and to go shopping. We want our volunteers to have everything they need to save lives anywhere and everywhere in Israel, in ninety seconds.

This was the life mission of our dear son and friend, Sholom Elazar Reches A"H. Sholom was always the first to run out to help save someone's life. Whether he was on a fire engine, an ambulance, or in his own car, Sholom was always ready to help.

As Sholom's fifth Yartzheit approaches, we decided on a beautiful way to honor his memory. To dedicate a United Hatzalah Ambucar in his memory – to continue his legacy of being the first one to  help whenever and wherever needed.

Please join us in carrying on his legacy.
