The American Project

Hatzalah is not just about saving lives. It’s much more than that. It’s about being there for the patient in his time of need. It’s about caring, of being able to relate,to sympathize and to reassure him. As any American in Israel knows, not only is the language barrier a daunting challenge, the Israeli personality and temperament can be intimidating, especially to the sick or injured. To the American Bachurim and young avreichem, learning in Israel, knowing that there are caring responders available for them during their time of need, providing american quality care and who are able to communicate in a language that they understands, can makes all the difference.

Therefore, a group of American bachurim and avreichem approached United Hatzalah to create a project to cater to the English speaking communitiy. This is to be an all-encompassing system from English speaking dispatchers and responders all the way to the hospital with an American staffed ambulance.

United Hatzalah is currently willing to work on the logistics of ensuring dispatchers 24/7 and  the adaptation of the dispatching system to have the ability to send English speaking responders where needed. Now we need to raise money for an ambulance to ensure full care and to demonstrate to United Hatzalah that there is an interest in the project. This ambulance will i'yh be stationed in the vicinity of Recho Bar Ilan and Shmuel Ha'navi in Yerushalyim, to be able to access the major hub of American yeshivas such as Mir, Brisk and  Yagdiel among others, as well as the American neighborhoods of Sanhedreia Hamurchevedt, Machal, Maleh Dafna, Ramat Eshkol.

Not only is this an opportunity to save lives and to help out another Jew in his time of need, it also is the zechus of allowing young bein torah to learn with menuchas ha’nefesh, knowing that if and when, chas v’shalom , an emergency occurs there is someone there for them, eager to provide them with top-notch care and concern.
