    • Build on existing donor base by getting current donors to increase their support and bringing in new donors and foundations.

  • Event planning
    • Coordinate cultivation and outreach events, including parlor events and local major events including dinners and Galas.
    • Overseeing event planning, logistics, and follow up.
  • Donor Stewardship
    • Ensure donors receive our best-in-class donor stewardship.

Friends of United Hatzalah, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which supports the work of United Hatzalah of Israel, is currently seeking a Senior Development Associate. This full-time position based in New York City (hybrid work schedule) will be responsible for supporting the President and Founder of the organization, as well as fundraising and other support teams.

The position reports to the Director of Fundraising Operations and will have significant opportunities to interact with United Hatzalah staff in Israel and in the United States.

Principal duties and responsibilities include:

Fundraising support and donor stewardship:

  • Support President in his public speaking and fundraising roles in N. America with a specific focus on New York
  • Help manage President’s existing relationships including scheduling of New York meetings including donors and synagogue engagements
  • Support President in end of year fundraising
  • Source new potential supporters for the organization, including research
  • Work closely with the NY-based team to support the organization’s priorities
  • Communicate with donors about issues regarding their donations

CRM database maintenance:

  • Maintain contact and account management in Salesforce
  • Support overall fundraising objectives by creating reports and providing data analytics

Principal duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage New York office space and oversee facilities operations
  • Supervise the maintenance of office equipment and the purchase of office supplies, maintaining consistent inventory for effective office operations
  • Manage ordering, packing, shipping, and delivery of donor stewardship materials and conduct relevant database updates
  • Collaborate with fundraisers and fundraising support staff to support and enhance the donor experience
  • Assist with procurement across all departments, including:

  • Produce donor-driven marketing material Build program proposals, including budgets and measurables
  • Track and supervise submissions and relationships with funders using organizational CRM

  • At least 2 years of proven grant writing experience

The Accounting and Compliance Specialist will exercise a high level of accountability and will partner with global functional teams to ensure adherence to governmental rules and regulations, internal policies and procedures and industry standards, and maintaining financial records in an effective, accurate and timely manner. The position works collaboratively with staff across the international organization, and reports to the Director of Finance.

Principal duties and responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and maintain financial activity within Israel for Canada and other international branches, including detailed data entry to ensure clear documentation of all transactions
  • Actively partner with Israeli finance department on programmatic needs for United Hatzalah programs managed by international branches including Canada
  • Manage international banking operations in Israel by accounting for all transactions and conducting relevant account reconciliations
  • Monitor transactions and procurements for proper due diligence and ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
  • Review all invoices and payments for appropriate documentation and approvals
  • Maintain organized filing and recordkeeping systems for all financial transactions
  • Support Canada Director and other senior members of management to compile, analyze, and report financial data
  • Support external audits and information requests

Qualifications:

The Content Coordinator works in a capacity to help produce and manage tailored content with the goal of pushing forward United Hatzalah’s life-saving mission. Key responsibilities include strategizing and producing visual as well as written promotional marketing materials to raise engagement via social media and other mediums. This role will create and implement strategies both on long-term and short-term projects. The content coordinator will aim to seek out new storytelling opportunities, provide feedback on the production of videos, support and share group projects, and be responsible for sharing content with the Digital Marketing specialist.

The Content Coordinator will report directly to the Media Department Manager.

Tasks include:

  • Prepare and implement a well-structured content strategy plan
  • Create content relevant for various marketing and branding channels – including social media posts, digital fundraising campaigns, events, and other campaigns. 
  • Create content across different formats to keep branding engaging and fresh with a focus on storytelling – images, video, made-for-social content, digital ads, website design, and more. 
  • Support posting across various social media accounts.
  • Identify and work with social media influencers
  • Work closely with Digital Campaign Strategist to promote branding and creative campaign storytelling.
  • Work closely with international staff including fundraisers, Young Leadership program leads, and events team, to develop great content for all our activities and branding. 

Requirements:

  • Experience in creating strong, engaging content
  • Portfolio of applicable projects
  • Excellent writing and editing skills in English (Hebrew is a plus!)
  • Strong listening and communication skills
  • A collaborative approach that prioritises working closely with other team members and supporting their success
