In a moving act of lovingkindness, Muslim and Jewish volunteers from United Hatzalah distributing blankets to the homeless in the city of Akko on what is thus far, the coldest night of the year.
United Hatzalah EMTs Eran Lev, Shira Amsalem, Monir Kawas, Shimon Hatuel, Lifaz Hatuel, and Eliran Madar, drove around the city of Akko on Wednesday evening distributing the heat reflective emergency blankets to homeless people in various locations throughout the city. The operation was spearheaded by United Hatzalah Akko Chapter Head Noam Lifshin.
“Tonight is the coldest night of the year thus far, and the risks of frostbite are serious. Volunteers from United Hatzalah left their homes in order to help the homeless get a little bit warmer and protect themselves against the cold. The reactions which we received were incredible. The people who received the blankets thanked us profusely, and many tears were shed by both the recipients and those distributing the blankets.”
