UNITED HATZALAH - USA
PRIVACY POLICY
United Hatzalah of Israel (“United Hatzalah of Israel”) owns and operates this Web site: http://www.israelrescue.org. This statement discloses the privacy practices of http://www.israelrescue.org (the “UH Site”). The UH Site provides information, resources, and data intended to raise awareness and funds for its cause. UH reserves the right to modify this privacy policy at any time.
Information Collection and Use
On certain pages of the UH Site, in particular when donating online or registering for a special event, visitors may be asked to list their name, email address, residence address, other personal contact information and credit card information (“Personally Identifiable Information”). Visitors are not required to provide Personally Identifiable Information in order to browse the UH Site and obtain valuable information. UH is the sole owner of the information collected on the UH Site. We take every precaution to protect our users’ Personally Identifiable Information and UH will not sell, share or exchange Personally Identifiable Information with any other organization or individual in any way other than as disclosed in this Privacy Policy. When users submit sensitive information via the UH Site, their information is protected both online and off-line.
We will not share your email address with other organizations, except as necessary to administer UH’s own use of the information. If you receive an e-mail from us, you may choose not to receive such messages in the future by following the “unsubscribe” link which we put in the footer at the bottom of mass e-mailings.
Security
When the UH Site asks users to enter Personally Identifiable Information, that information is encrypted and is protected with the best available encryption software – – Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). While on a secure page, such as our donation form, the lock icon on the bottom of Web browsers such as Microsoft Internet Explorer becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when you are just ‘surfing’. We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using SSL software, which encrypts information you input. UH does not store or use credit card numbers for any purpose other than to obtain donations as authorized by visitors to the UH Site.
While we use SSL encryption to protect Personally Identifiable Information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our users’ information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted as to access. Only employees or authorized agents of UH who need the information to perform a specific job function are granted access to Personally Identifiable Information.
Furthermore, all employees and authorized agents are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices.
If you have any questions about the security of the UH Site, you can send an email to [email protected].
Links
The UH Site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that UH is not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of any other Web site including but not limited to those for which we provide links. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every Web site that collects Personally Identifiable Information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by the UH Site.
Cookies
A cookie is a small text file which a Web site places on a site visitor’s computer hard drive. Its purpose is to let the site know when a user visits and to perform certain functions such as saving passwords and personal preferences. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any Personally Identifiable Information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie simply terminates. For example, by setting a cookie on our site, the user would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use the UH Site. The only drawback to this is that the user will be limited in some areas of our site. Some of our business partners use cookies on our site (for example, advertisers). However, UH has no access to, or control over, these cookies.
Sharing
UH shares aggregated demographic information with our beneficiaries and sponsors. This is not linked to any Personally Identifiable Information. We use credit card processing companies to bill users for donations. These companies do not retain, share, store or use Personally Identifiable Information for any secondary purposes. Should we partner with another party to provide specific services, when the user signs up for these services we will share names or other contact information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These third parties are not permitted to use Personally Identifiable Information except for the purpose of providing these services.
