It is imperative that every single one of our volunteers carries a life-saving defibrillator to be able to restart a heart and give heart attack victims another chance of life.  

This complete kit, including an emergency defibrillator, oxygen tank, intravenous fluid, hemorrhage control kit, and other essential medical devices, enables our United Hatzalah volunteers to respond to whatever they encounter on their rescue missions.

For volunteers commuting short distances, the provision of electric ambulance-bicycles (“E-bikes”) offers an attractive alternative, enabling them to respond promptly to emergencies within seconds, significantly reducing average response times in congested downtown areas. Marked with distinctive United Hatzalah decals, siren, flashing lights, and equipped with a medical first aid bag and defibrillator, these nimble E-bikes facilitate reaching victims within 90 seconds.

United Hatzalah’s pivotal contribution to emergency response lies in the ambucycle, a motorcycle specially deployed by volunteers across Israel. These ambucycles ensure rapid arrival at scenes within minutes, unimpeded by traffic or narrow streets. Equipped with a first-aid case for essential medical gear, volunteers can swiftly respond to calls using ambucycles, aided by United Hatzalah’s LifeCompass technology, leading to an average response time of three minutes, reducing to 90 seconds in city centers. With approximately 1,200 ambucycles in operation, this innovation forms a cornerstone of United Hatzalah’s emergency services.

The fully equipped Emergency Response Heavy Ambucycle is a nimble and versatile vehicle that is built for extra speed and durability and can respond to emergencies both on regular roadways and unpaved roads and more difficult terrain. With a higher horsepower and more durability, this vehicle can be used to respond to emergencies that are further away in less time than a regular ambucycle. This donation includes all required medical equipment, maintenance, and insurance, for 3 years.

United Hatzalah introduces the ambucar as an alternative transportation option for those who can’t or prefer not to use an ambucycle. This fleet of rapid response licensed cars, equipped with sirens and lights, bridges the gap between ambulances and ambucycles. Volunteer first responders carry comprehensive medical gear in these cars during their daily routines, facilitating advanced lifesaving treatment from doctors and nurses. With additional seating and storage, ambucars also empower regional directors, MCI coordinators, and dispatch personnel to carry essential equipment, setting up command posts and field hospitals when needed.

While ambucycles excel in swift urban response, certain inaccessible regions of Israel, like mountain paths and desert routes, require a different approach. To address these challenges, United Hatzalah operates 28 ambutractors stationed across the country, serving as powerful 4-wheel rescue vehicles for reaching emergencies in rugged terrains. Designed for desert landscapes, these 4×4 vehicles come equipped with a hard shell roof and a folding front seat that accommodates a medical cot for seamless patient transport. The ambutractor proves indispensable in locating and aiding missing or injured individuals in forests, deserts, and challenging terrains, serving especially well in areas with rugged landscapes and frequent search and rescue missions.
