My name is Edward (Chaim) Stern and I am a united Hatzalah volunteer Medic #8879. I am 23 yrs old married and learning in the mir. It has always been my dream since i was a young boy to become a volunteer emergency responder and help people at their time of need.
I joined United Hatzalah 15 months ago after having undergone intensive training at MDA. Since then I have merited to a help hundreds of people from non serious "frequant flyers" who just need a helping hand or a listening ear to life threatening and often traumatic situations. Some end well others don't and unfortunately I have become a temporary grief counseler more than once.
Up until now I have responded on my personal motorcycle. Although I still beat the traffic it does have some drawbacks. I have to observe traffic laws like everyone else and also recently it has been taking one trip to many to the mechanic. Therefore I have embarked on a mission to raise funds for an emergency response ambucycle.
As I have witnessed in the last year and a half as an emergency responder, traffic can be a nightmare in urban areas and with our ambucycles we have cut down response times by as much as 15 minutes without compromising the quality of primary response care.
I am creating a campaign whereby 200 extraordinary people from our Northwest London community will donate $180 each, bringing me to the total of $36000. With these donations we will merit to have another lifesaving vehicle on Israel's streets delivering quality emergency response to our brothers and sisters at their time of need.
