United Hatzalah of Israel volunteers accompanied Bar Kuperstein and his two brothers to Ben Gurion Airport on their way to the United States for a deeply meaningful and historic encounter with President Donald Trump.
United Hatzalah volunteer medics Alon Agai, Netanel Sameria and Avraham Rani escorted the Kuperstein brothers to the airport and offered them best wishes ahead of their journey.
Alon Agai commented:
“Bar, you and the many heroes of October 7, are modern day Maccabees, symbols of pride, spirit and resilience of our great nation. The world must hear what you endured while being held captive by Hamas terrorists in Gaza.”
Bar paused before his departure to reflect on the powerful image of the giant yellow ribbon for the hostages still illuminated on the airport’s control tower.
“This symbol is very emotional for me,” remarked Bar. “I’ve seen it all over the place, wherever I go, and it signifies to me that we were never forgotten.”
For the past six years, United Hatzalah’s administration and volunteers have remained committed to the Kuperstein family. Tal Kuperstein, Bar’s father, was severely injured while responding to a medical emergency involving a little girl. On his way to providing life-saving treatment, Tal was involved in an accident, which left him paralyzed and wheelchair bound. After Tal’s accident, Bar took responsibility to help support his family. On October 7, Bar was captured and taken hostage while he worked at the Nova Music Festival as a security guard and medic.
Over the years, and especially throughout the past two, United Hatzalah has been there for the Kupersteins, fulfilling a commitment to the families of our Heroes in Orange, saying that they are not alone. Recently, United Hatzalah launched a Charidy fundraising campaign to provide much needed financial assistance to the family.
“This campaign will give the Kupersteins peace of mind and security along their road to recovery following Bar’s release on October 13th from the dungeons in Gaza,” stated Founder and President of United Hatzalah Eli Beer.
Dvir Kuperstein, one of Bar’s younger brothers, remarked:
“Thank you United Hatzalah and Eli Beer for all the help and support given to our family over the years since our father’s traffic accident. Am Yisrael Chai!”
Now that Bar is back home, we want to help the family recover and rejoice with their beloved son! Help us help the Kuperstein Family.
