A new United Hatzalah ambulance was dedicated in honor of Academy Award-winning actor Jon Voight, recognizing his longstanding friendship with Israel and his deep connection to the people of the Holy Land.
The ambulance was donated by United Hatzalah friends Mitch and Jolene Julis during the wedding celebration of Elliot and Yuval Julis. The bride and groom were present for the dedication, adding a meaningful lifesaving tribute to their celebration and symbolizing the continuity of care that United Hatzalah provides across Israel every day.
Voight joined the dedication via FaceTime and reacted warmly when he saw the inscription bearing his name on the side of the new emergency vehicle.
“Oh, that is so beautiful, you guys,” Voight said as he viewed the ambulance.
The dedication on the ambulance reads: “Dedicated in honor of Jon Voight, in recognition of his profound love of the Holy Land and its people.”
Voight, one of Hollywood’s most recognizable and decorated actors. He is the father of actress and public advocate Angelina Jolie.
Jon Voigh has used his public platform over the years to speak out in support of Israel and the Jewish people. Through this dedication, the Julis family honored not only his celebrated career in film, but also his courage, conviction, and friendship with Israel.
“Jon Voight has stood with Israel with heart, strength, and unwavering moral courage,” said Eli Beer, founder and president of United Hatzalah. “It is deeply meaningful that an ambulance bearing his name will help save lives every day in Israel. Jon, we love you!”
The new ambulance will join United Hatzalah’s nationwide fleet of emergency response vehicles, helping volunteer medics, paramedics, and doctors reach medical emergencies throughout Israel and provide fast, free emergency medical care to anyone in need.
