In Memory of my Mother

I’m so sad to share that my beloved mother, Chaya (Inna) Beer, z”l, has passed away at the age of 96.

My mother was always smiling and full of joy. She loved every human being and taught us to respect others, no matter our differences. She was a woman of deep faith who believed in God with all her heart, but above all, she believed that kindness comes first. An avid Zionist, my mother fulfilled her dream of moving to Israel and building a family here, raising children and living to meetnearly 150 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. But even with such a loving family, in the last two years she was in need of emotional and psychological support like never before. In that way, she was always with the Jewish people.

In her memory, I’m asking for help to strengthen United Hatzalah’s Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit. This amazing unit gives people the tools to turn trauma into resilience and continue living after tragedy.

I loved my mother dearly and was with her in her final moments. As we say goodbye to her in Jerusalem, we will honor her by carrying forward the love, integrity, and warmth she instilled in us. And of course, by carrying on her gmilut chassadim - acts of loving-kindness.

She was not only my mommy, she was also my hero and I hope you'll consider giving to this incredible unit in memory of her to help us carry on her legacy.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,

Eli
