In Memory of Jeffrey Haar
Honouring his memory through compassion, courage, and lifesaving action.
Message to sponsors
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jeffrey Haar, cherished husband of Rachel and devoted father of Benjamin and Sadie.
Loving son of Beverley and the late Sol Haar; son-in-law of Elaine and Michael Lipton; and youngest brother and brother-in-law of Mark, Karen, Bruce, and Rick Haar, and Brad and Mark Lipton. Proud uncle to Joey, Tess, Charlie, Lewie, Jordy, and Ellie Haar. Beloved friend to many, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories.
Jeff had a successful career as a lawyer, earning respect for his skill and integrity. But what truly defined him was his love for life and his family, the experiences he created, and above all, the people he cherished.
His true passion was living fully and bringing his family along.
Travel was in Jeff's DNA long before Rachel. He experienced the world deeply and later shared that love with his family - from the thrill of taking them to Asia, to the energy of Springsteen and Billy Joel concerts with his kids, to the simple joy of road trips and cheering for his beloved Blue Jays and Miami Dolphins. Every moment reflected his curiosity, joy, and care. Every detail mattered because he wanted each experience to be unforgettable.
Above all, Jeff loved Rachel, Benjamin, and Sadie with his whole heart. They were his centre, his joy, and his pride.
Jeff's intellect, wit, and quick humour were always present in his words, his laughter, and the energy he brought everywhere.
Israel was always close to his heart. Visiting last spring was profoundly meaningful and, after October 7th, he became a passionate advocate, speaking up clearly and proudly for what mattered most to him.
Even after his cancer diagnosis, Jeff leaned fully into life, into experiences, and into family. He left nothing on the table except the gift of more time.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Grant, Dr. Laura Dawson, Dr. Jenna Spring, Dr. Alexandra Saltman, and Dr. Gary Rodin, as well as the nurses and staff of PMH 17A and 16P, for their incredible care and compassion.
