On June 28, 2024, Israel lost a hero—Sergeant Yair Avitan Z”L, a courageous soldier in the 890th Battalion of the Paratrooper Brigade. At just 20 years old, Yair was tragically killed in battle during Operation "Iron Swords" in Gaza. His family, friends, and the nation mourn his loss, but his legacy lives on in his unwavering dedication to his country, his love for Israel, and his commitment to helping others.
Born on July 31, 2003, in Ra'anana, Yair strived for excellence throughout his life. He excelled in school, served as a leader in the “Harel Religious Scout Group”. Yair chose a path of service in the IDF, where he ultimately joined the elite Paratrooper Brigade. Yair’s life was driven by his passion for protecting his people and his homeland, and he believed in achieving goals through hard work and collaboration with others.
In honor of Yair’s memory, his family and friends are raising funds to purchase an Advanced Life Support Vehicle for United Hatzalah, an organization dedicated to providing emergency medical care all across Israel. This vehicle will be equipped with high end life-saving technology in order to respond quickly in moments of crisis, just as Yair dedicated his life to saving others.
Yair’s story is one of sacrifice, heroism, and love for his people. Now, we ask you to join us in continuing his legacy. By supporting this campaign, you will be part of a cause that will save lives across Israel.
