Last night, the Jerusalem Tzion Branch of United Hatzalah held its inaugural conference for its Anglo responders.

The volunteers were treated to a delicious dairy dinner and participated in an engaging Torah class delivered by Deputy National Halacha Coordinator, Harav Akiva Benedikt, where they discussed various topics relating to responding to emergencies on Shabbos.

The volunteers then heard a fascinating presentation from United Hatzalah volunteer physician Dr. Yonatan Ringo, OBGYN, on dealing with childbirth in the field and the various complications that can occur in such emergencies. Dr. Ringo, who is a highly respected and sought-after OBGYN at Sharei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem, is a proud Anglo volunteer for the Jerusalem Tzion branch of United Hatzalah.

“I’d like to thank our Branch Director, Shalom Sannanes, and our Deputy Director, Bentzi Shpitzer, for assisting in making this conference happen,” said Hershel Morgenstern, Anglo Coordinator for the Jerusalem Tzion Branch. “Our Anglo volunteers play a huge part in servicing the English-speaking community for United Hatzalah. Our volunteer physicians and medics are always willing to take time out of their busy schedules and drop everything to save lives. We recognize them and thank them for all they do for the klal.”
