Founder and President of United Hatzalah, Eli Beer was just 7 years old when a bus exploded in front of him from a terrorist attack. A wounded man in the attack pleaded with Eli to help him, but Eli, too young, was unable to do anything to help. The incident motivated Eli, now 50, to dedicate his life to saving others and create, United Hatzalah. United Hatzalah is the fastest emergency medical service in the entire world and is completely free of charge. United Hatzalah volunteers work around the clock to respond to medical emergencies in under 90 seconds all over the state of Israel. United Hatzalah volunteers are made up of people from all over Israel, Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Men, and Women. This diverse fleet of volunteers saves the lives of all people in Israel, in just under 90 seconds. On October 7th when Israel was attacked, United Hatzalah was the first on the scene. Volunteers worked incredibly hard to save as many lives as possible. Volunteers set up field hospitals, transported patients by helicopter, ambulances, and other special vehicles entering dangerous areas to ensure as many lives were saved. Since that first day, over 3,000 United Hatzalah medics have been on the front lines, the northern and southern borders saving lives with over 375 rescue vehicles. When Eli was seven, he hoped to be able to help one man in a terrorist attack. Eli now, in this effort and with 7,000 medics on his side, has saved over 4,000 lives since October 7th from rocket attacks alone. As this war wages on, Eli and United Hatzalah Volunteers need help to continue to ensure that as many lives can continue to be saved as possible during this difficult time in Israel.
