Message to sponsors
We are working so hard, around the clock, to make sure the people in Israel are safe, and to make sure we have the tools we need to assist at these very difficult times. During these tragic days, we saved many many lives, but we also lost some volunteers in battle and have volunteers who were injured while saving lives under fire; we have four sons of our volunteers who were kidnapped. In addition to our very important on-going emergency campaign, to replenish and upgrade essential lifesaving equipment, I am now faced with the need to raise funds for humanitarian relief for volunteers. I want to raise $1.8M to help our volunteers. We have over 200 volunteers who were evacuated from their homes (those from Sderot and the Gaza Border, Emek Ahula and the Northern Settlements), these families are facing real hardships. 6 volunteers who lost family members in battle; we have 9 families of injured volunteers, and I want to provide a 6-month stipend to 4 volunteers whose sons were kidnapped. I also want to give a small gift voucher to the incredible volunteers who came to the frontlines spending the first few days of this horrific carnage out in the field, risking their lives to save others. This is an incredible chessed.
About United Hatzalah of Israel
United Hatzalah of Israel is the largest independent, non-profit, fully volunteer Emergency Medical Service organization that provides the fastest and free emergency medical first response throughout Israel. United Hatzalah’s service is available to all people regardless of race, religion, or national origin. United Hatzalah has more than 7,000 volunteers around the country, available around the clock – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. With the help of our unique GPS technology and our iconic ambucycles, our average response time is less than 3 minutes across the country and 90 seconds in metropolitan areas. Our mission is to arrive at the scene of medical emergencies as soon as possible and provide the patient with professional and appropriate medical aid until an ambulance arrives, resulting in many more lives saved.
All donations made to a MyMitzvah campaign will be allocated toward the specific campaign goal, upon completion of said campaign. Donations to campaigns that do not reach their goals, will go toward the lifesaving activities of United Hatzalah.
