Israeli veteran fashion designer, Tovale Chasin, received the prestigious Fashion Ambassador Award at United Hatzalah’s annual Miami Gala, recognizing her decades of contributions promoting Israel through fashion and design. The award was presented by philanthropist Dr. Miriam Adelson, who is among Chasin’s regular clients.

In the late 1980s, Chasin launched her first store in central Tel Aviv, and quickly built a loyal following drawn to her unique aesthetic and unmistakable design signature. Over the next three decades, she established herself as a notable figure in Israeli fashion.

Born and raised on a kibbutz, her rural upbringing, initially far removed from the fashion world, would later influence her design aesthetic. Her collections typically feature detailed handwork and embellishments, including custom accessories such as belts and bags.

In her designs, Tovale incorporates her love for Israel and its citizens by weaving in unique elements such as Bible verses, lyrics from Israeli songs, and Stars of David.

Among her notable clients are Adv. Michal Herzog, wife of Israeli President Isaac Herzog, and philanthropist Dr. Miriam Adelson, for whom she designed a custom-made orange dress worn at the United Hatzalah Gala. The dress featured elements of the organization’s mission, featuring the Talmudic phrase ‘Whoever saves one life saves an entire world,’ United Hatzalah logos, and reflective materials inspired by their emergency vests. The design was adorned with 1,000 sparkling Swarovski crystals.

Her recent Fashion Ambassador Award acknowledges not just her creative achievements, but her role in shaping Israel’s fashion landscape and representing Israeli design on the global stage.

Through her designs, Tovale connects art, fashion, and Israeli values, and continues to work towards commemorating and supporting events of national significance. Last November, Tovale participated in an emotional fashion display in memory of the murdered victims of October 7 at Habima Square in Tel Aviv. The event also featured other leading designers including Dror Kontento, Asia, and Dylan Parienty.

Philanthropist Dr. Miriam Adelson said: “On this special evening, we honor and cherish dear Tovale Chasin, an extraordinary Israeli designer whose artistry and creative vision have inspired countless people over the years. It is a great honor to have you with us tonight, and your tireless dedication to the people of Israel, combined with your profound love for the country, makes you truly deserving of this award.”

Eli Beer, President and Founder of United Hatzalah, said: “Tovale Chasin is not just a brilliant fashion designer, but a true ambassador of Israel to the world. Through her art, she strengthens the connection between Diaspora Jewry and the State of Israel, inspiring us all. She has devoted her life to promoting Israeli fashion, weaving Zionist elements into her creations. We are proud to present her with this award and delighted to see United Hatzalah supporters worldwide wearing her designs, becoming ambassadors of Israel themselves. The audience’s emotional response when she accepted the award demonstrated just how deeply she touches and inspires people.”
