In a significant move to enhance its life-saving capabilities, United Hatzalah launched a state-of-the-art cloud-based emergency response solution developed by Carbyne, an Israeli startup and global leader in public safety technologies.

The initiative comes as a direct response to the lessons learned from the October 7th events, which highlighted the need for an even more robust and efficient emergency response system.

A Significant Step Forward

This technological upgrade represents a significant step forward in United Hatzalah’s emergency response capabilities.

By moving to Carbyne’s APEX cloud-based system, which is also utilized by 911 dispatch centers across the United States, United Hatzalah ensures faster and more efficient responses, increasing the ability to save lives.

The system enables live video transmission from callers, real-time photo reception from incident scenes, precise caller location identification (including building height), and chat management for situations where speaking is impossible or dangerous.

One of the most innovative aspects of this technology is its accessibility. These advanced features are available without the need for a smartphone app, activated simply by clicking a link sent to the caller’s phone during the emergency call.

The system’s AI-based capabilities further enhance its effectiveness. By streaming critical data to emergency dispatchers and filtering incoming calls by urgency level, APEX optimizes decision-making and resource allocation, especially during peak times.

Game Changer

Dovi Maisel, VP of Operations at United Hatzalah, emphasized the importance of this upgrade:

“As part of the lessons learned since October 7th, we are significantly improving our emergency response capabilities and changing the rules of the game in life-saving,” said Maisel.

“Moving to the cloud with Carbyne’s APEX ensures faster and more efficient response, increases the chances of saving lives, and provides a greater sense of security to the community,” added Maisel.

Amir Elichai, CEO and Founder of Carbyne, expressed pride in the partnership: “We appreciate United Hatzalah’s management for its commitment to providing its thousands of employees and volunteers with a modern, efficient, and reliable work environment, and beyond that – for its commitment to providing the public it serves with a faster and better response in emergency situations.”
