United Hatzalah, Israel’s largest all-volunteer-based emergency medical response organization, announced the deployment of 20 new, state-of-the-art ambulances. This represents an increase of nearly 25 percent; the new ambulances will significantly strengthen the organization’s ability to respond to medical emergencies throughout Israel. Each vehicle is equipped with advanced medical equipment and technology, enabling United Hatzalah teams to provide rapid and professional care at the scene of an emergency.

The fleet expansion is part of United Hatzalah’s continuing effort to strengthen and increase its national network of volunteer EMTs, paramedics, and physicians and move closer to its goal of reaching medical emergencies across Israel within 90 seconds. The ambulances are being strategically assigned to branches across the organization’s nationwide network of approximately 90 branches.

They share our belief in the mission and recognize the extraordinary dedication and sacrifice of our volunteers.”

United Hatzalah Chief Executive Officer Professor Ehud Davidson said the additional ambulances form an important part of the organization’s long-term operational strategy.

“Strengthening United Hatzalah’s ambulance fleet is a critical part of our plan to improve Israel’s national emergency preparedness while continuing to reduce response times during all types of medical emergencies,” Davidson said. “Thousands of United Hatzalah volunteers dedicate themselves to saving human life. Our responsibility is to ensure that they have the professional equipment, technology and logistical support they need to carry out that mission.”
