Today, United Hatzalah has unveiled a new emergency medical vest created specifically for members of the Adele and Joel Sandberg Women’s Unit.
The new vest proudly displays the name of the unit, giving its female EMTs, paramedics, and physicians a distinct identity within United Hatzalah’s nationwide volunteer network.
The Adele and Joel Sandberg Women’s Unit was established to recruit, train and support female emergency first responders while helping address the specific medical and cultural needs of women patients.
While the unit places particular emphasis on medical issues affecting women, its volunteers respond to all types of medical emergencies and provide lifesaving care to men, women, children and elderly patients from every community.
“This vest represents a growing community of women who are breaking barriers and saving lives,” said Director of the Adele and Joel Sandberg Women’s Unit Gitty Beer. “Our amazing volunteers are specially trained and equipped to address the needs of women, but they are first responders in every sense of the word. Whenever and wherever an emergency occurs, they are ready to help anyone in need.”
