In the wake of October 7, 2023, and the Iron Swords war, we developed the Advanced Focused Guide to Individual Traumatic Crisis Management.

Dr. Sharon Slater, PsyD, CTSS, CCISM, and a leader in United Hatzalah’s Psychotrauma Crisis Response Unit (PCRU), shares a presentation on trauma intervention for mental health professionals and leaders in Jewish communities. In this “Advanced Focused Guide to Individual Traumatic Crisis Management,” Dr. Slater discusses trauma and the prevention of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) as it relates to the events of October 7th in Israel. She reviews the challenges that the PCRU faced in Israel and overseas in the aftermath of the Iron Swords War. She addresses the theoretical bases for the protocols and presents the Advanced and Proximate models utilized within the first 72 hours of a traumatic event.
