On Thursday morning at 11:00 am, Netanel Koginsky, head of United Hatzalah’s Maaleh Adumim branch, received an alert on his communication device about a severe traffic accident on Route #437.

Responding immediately, Koginsky was first to arrive at the crash site, where shattered glass and twisted metal painted a stark picture of the collision’s severity.

The accident involved an IDF truck that had collided with an SUV, with the impact crushing the SUV’s driver’s side door and trapping the driver inside. After a rapid scene assessment, Koginsky realized that while he couldn’t free the victim alone, he could save his life through immediate medical care.

Thinking quickly, the Koginsky accessed the trapped driver through the back seat. Working in the confined space, he applied trauma bandages to stop the heavy bleeding, secured a neck brace to prevent potential spinal injuries, and monitored the patient’s vital signs.

Additional emergency responders soon arrived on scene. Koginsky collaborated with other medics and fire rescue teams to safely extricate the driver from the damaged vehicle.

Once freed, the victim was quickly wheeled into a waiting ambulance and rushed off to the hospital for further treatment.
