    About
    Mission

We are a community-based volunteer emergency medical services (EMS) organization committed to providing the fastest response to medical emergencies across Israel even prior to the arrival of ambulances and completely free of charge.

    Volunteers

United Hatzalah’s strength is in its 6,500 selfless volunteers. These include emergency medical technicians (EMTs), paramedics, and doctors, who are on call 24/7/365 – even on Yom Kippur!

    Team

Meet the team dedicated to propelling United Hatzalah’s mission forward.

    How it works

By combining a network of more than 6,500 volunteers, with the most advanced technology, and a fleet of emergency medical vehicles, we are able to respond to more than 2,000 medical emergencies per day in an average response time of less than three minutes, and in major cities, often less than 90 secons. OUR PROGRAMS
    ISRAEL PROGRAMS

Our volunteers go above and beyond providing EMS service.

    The Weisz Family IMAH Initiative

The Weisz Family IMAH Initiative provides widows across Israel with job training, certification, and placement in emergency medicine roles.

    NREMT Program

THE NREMT PROGRAM was created to provide students who are studying in Israel an opportunity to train as EMTs and gain lifesaving skills with international certification.

    Family Safety Program

United Hatzalah offers a Family Safety course, so that every parent, grandparent, teacher, and babysitter can be prepared to act swiftly and competently in the event of a medical crisis.

    Smart Giving

United Hatzalah is signed up for a “Round-Up” credit card program (Iggul Hatova) that enables individuals to donate a percent of their spendings automatically through their Israeli credit card.

    Families First

Families First is a program aimed at providing the spouses of EMS volunteers with a social network in which they can find camaraderie, support, and share stories and challenges with fellow spouses of EMS volunteers.

    Hospital Emergency Room Project

United Hatzalah’s Hospital Emergency Room (ER) Project was launched in response to the situation in Israel’s increasingly overburdened and under-staffed emergency rooms, causing long delays that negatively impact patient treatment.

    Corporate Social Responsibility Project

United Hatzalah’s Corporate Social Responsibility Project enables major corporations, organizations, and communities to offer training courses to its employees or constituents.

    Camp Rescue

This joint summer program with NCSY, presents United Hatzalah’s unique mission to unaffiliated Jewish high school students from the Diaspora and offers the summer of a lifetime, with the goal of strengthening their ties to Israel and Judaism and fostering a commitment to the Jewish values of Tikkun Olam and Chessed.

    Women’s Initiative

The Women’s Initiative at United Hatzalah trains and empowers women from diverse backgrounds across Israel, including religious and secular Jews, Arabs, Christians, and Druze to volunteer as emergency medical responders.

    Day of Lifesaving

Responding to 2,000 emergencies each day requires a huge supply of medical supplies, advanced technology and communications equipment.

Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit (PCRU)

Emotional injuries, just like physical injuries, cannot be left untreated.

    International Missions

We recognize that saving lives doesn’t stop at Israel’s borders.

    Ten Kavod

The Ten Kavod program, in English “Giving Honor”, aims to prevent the deterioration of medical health among the senior population, and reduce the number of unnecessary emergency calls, by having trained medical responders visit with them on a weekly basis to help them maintain their health and alleviate their sense of loneliness.
