United Hatzalah’s NREMT (national registry of emergency medical technicians) course enables students currently living in Israel to become certified as nationally registered EMT’s.

The course is given in English and is a hybrid course, combining in-person and online learning. The next course will begin on October 2024 in Jerusalem.

The course is offered in both a regular and accelerated format. The regular format meets once every two weeks and the accelerated one meets once a week.

Students are expected to spend approximately 15-20 hours of preparation before each class using the online website Jones & Bartlett Learning Management System where you will have access to the e-book as well as other resources. The preparation requires reading the material of the assigned chapters and taking online quizzes at the end of each chapter.

Regular format course duration is 6 months and course duration for the accelerated format is 3 months.

In addition to the NREMT certification there is a “hashlama” segment at the end to gain Israeli certification for those who are interested. This consists of an additional four classes and then taking the Israeli written and practical exams.

For the NREMT certification, the final practical skills testing will be administered at our facility and for the cognitive testing, students register on the NREMT website and take the computer-generated test at a Pearson Vue testing.

Course participation is for certification purposes , United Hatzalah does not guarantee acceptance to the organization as an emergency responder.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q: What are the enrollment prerequisites for the Hybrid EMT Course?
A: Must be 18 years of age at time of the certification exams. Must be free from any drug or alcohol addictions.

Q: Is a hybrid course easier than the traditional face to face class?
A: You will find that taking a hybrid learning is academically challenging because most of the work is done on an independent basis. The amount of time will vary depending on each students learning level. Students can spend extra time studying on each section and reviewing information as needed.

Q: What is the cost of the Hybrid EMT Program?
A: The cost for the online hybrid program is 5,550 ILS. This only includes the course cost and access code for the e-book. To pay by cash or check please contact [email protected].

Q: When and where is the mandatory course orientation?
A: A brief zoom orientation will take place on October 9th

Q: Is it possible to purchase a physical book in addition to the e-book access that we receive?
A: Yes, Physical books will be available for purchase at a cost of 400₪.

Q: What should I do if I have additional questions?
A: Please contact Ari Deutsch at [email protected] or WhatsApp 050-618-1221.

Please note this course is non-refundable.
