Not all of our patients walk on two legs.

This morning, within seconds of a missile attack in the Gush Dan area, United Hatzalah volunteers were already racing to multiple impact sites across Central Israel. Amid the chaos, sirens, and shattered glass, one call for help stood out.

On one of the impact scenes, our medics found a different kind of patient. It was no less frightened or hurt then the human kind. It was covered in dust and visibly shaken by the blast. The patient was a dog that was hurt by flying shrapnel.

Without hesitation, our volunteers did what they always do. They treated the patient who was in front of them. They comforted the dog and carefully bandaged the wounds.

Saving lives means all life, both human and non-human, without prejudice to race, religion, or background. Even the furry kind.

Once stable, man’s best friend was reunited with its owner.

Even in the hardest moments, remind us exactly why we do what we do. To answer the call for help, or in this case, a bark for help.
