The Adele and Joel Sandberg Women’s Initiative
Launched in 2021, The Adele and Joel Sandberg Women’s Initiative at United Hatzalah had an ambitious goal – double the number of female emergency responders from 1,000 to 2,000 within five years. To reach this goal, supporters of the Women’s Initiative have committed to raising $1.8 million each year, for a total of $9 million.
The Adele and Joel Sandberg Women’s Unit of United Hatzalah grew the number of female volunteers to 2,081 by the end of 2024, increasing by 27% from 2023, exceeding our 5-year goal to double the unit to 2000 female responders by 2026.
Our Mission
The Adele and Joel Sandberg Women’s Initiative of United Hatzalah raises much-needed funds to train and equip female medics from all ethnic and religious backgrounds. We are a community of highly engaged women who are dedicated to supporting the lifesaving work of our volunteers in Israel.
