How it works
Our network of more than 8,600 volunteers are equipped with the most advanced technology and a diverse fleet of emergency medical vehicles. These volunteer medics respond to more than 2,000 medical emergencies per day, often arriving within minutes, with a goal of 90 seconds or less in metropolitan areas.

SCROLL TO
Our Technology
When every second counts, United Hatzalah is there.
In a Code Blue scenario, where cardiac arrest strikes and a 60-year-old gentleman is stranded on the 4th floor, United Hatzalah volunteers sweep in, reaching the scene with a goal of a mere 90 seconds. With practiced precision, they stabilize the patient, orchestrating seamless transportation to the medical facility. And thus, they stand prepared for the next urgent summons.
In the face of a Code Orange, a mass casualty event, the call resounds across EMS responders and security forces. However, it is the United Hatzalah volunteers who arrive first, positioning themselves at the forefront of aid.
How do we achieve such swift action? Through the symphony of United Hatzalah’s iconic ambucycles, our cutting-edge communication framework, and trailblazing GPS technology. This fusion empowers our volunteers to consistently appear within minutes of pressing emergencies
LOGIS CAD SYSTEM
United Hatzalah adopted the Logis Computerized Assisted Dispatch (CAD) system to accelerate resource dispatch and expedite patient care.
Through our partnership with Elbit, a trailblazing military tech provider, we were able to transform smartphones into walkie-talkies. Using the ground breaking PTT (push-to-talk) over cellular radio systems, we can instantly connect 200 radio channels to enhance coordination with first responder dispatchers.
We also rely on the Carbyne app to streamline dispatch and coordination. Carbyne assesses geolocation and camera data from callers’ phones or from our field volunteers’ devices. Our dispatchers can pinpoint locations and guide the caller through vital first aid steps while simultaneously dispatching resources.
Using this technology, United Hatzalah volunteers have responded to more than six million urgent calls. We will continue to innovate on our technology foundation, so every person in Israel receives emergency care without delay.
Who is closest, geographically, to the scene?
Who has the highest level of training based on the situation at hand?
Who has the best equipment for this particular urgent call?
How is the volunteer traveling: by foot, car, ambucycle?
