In an emotional ceremony held this evening in Israel’s southern region, an area increasingly referred to as the “Envelope of Israel” (Otef Yisrael), United Hatzalah unveiled a newly dedicated ambulance that will serve the very communities once devastated by the October 7th attacks.

More than two and a half years after that horrific day, Israel once again find itself on the frontlines. For the past month, amid Operation Roaring Lion, missiles have struck across Israel, from north to south, placing renewed strain on emergency response systems and civilian resilience alike.

The new ambulance, fully equipped with advanced lifesaving technology, was made possible through the extraordinary generosity of students from the Katz Hillel Day School of Boca Raton, Florida. Their contribution reflects a deeply personal commitment to United Hatzalah’s lifesaving mission and a profound sense of solidarity with the people of Israel.

The vehicle will be stationed in United Hatzalah’s Gaza Envelope branch, serving kibbutzim and moshavim still in the process of rebuilding after the devastation of October 7th.

During the visit to the region, representatives described the profound impact of witnessing firsthand the resilience of local communities. “It was incredible to be here,” United Hatzalah Founder and President Eli Beer remarked. “People from across the region have come together over the past months to train to be United Hatzalah medics, joining units like the Bebas Brigade and the Dolev Yehud Brigade. They are religious and secular, from kibbutzim and cities alike, standing side by side united by one mission, saving lives.”

Beer also emphasized the significance of the ambulance dedication: “This dedication is not merely symbolic. It not only represents a tangible strengthening of our emergency medical capabilities in southern Israel, it tells a far greater story. Children thousands of miles away chose to stand with Israel not only in words, but in action. The students at the Katz Hillel Day School of Boca Raton Ambulance join a global network of partners and supporters committed to this noble mission.”

He added that beyond its symbolic value, the ambulance will immediately serve as a critical tool in the field. “This is a beautiful ambulance that will help people here, providing care, saving lives, and transporting patients to hospitals when needed. This is part of rebuilding Israel, and it is deeply moving to witness.”

At a time marked by uncertainty and resilience, this newly dedicated emergency vehicle stands as both a practical asset and a powerful symbol. It serves as a reminder that even in the most difficult moments, the bond between Jewish communities around the world can translate into lifesaving action on the ground.
