Jerusalem, Israel — In a moving evening filled with unity and hope, just 48 hours before the long-awaited return of Israel’s hostages, United Hatzalah hosted a special tribute event at the Jerusalem International Convention Center (Binyanei Ha’Uma) for its friends and supporters.
The highlight of the evening came when U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee and former Ambassador David Friedman took the stage alongside renowned performer Avraham Fried and comedian-singer Elon Gold for a rare and unforgettable musical performance.

Known for their deep love of Israel and strong connection to United Hatzalah, Huckabee and Friedman surprised the audience by picking up guitars and performing with warmth, harmony, and impressive musical talent. Their set included “Am Yisrael Chai” (“The Nation of Israel Lives”) and a special Jerusalem rendition of “Sweet Home Alabama”—reimagined for the occasion as “Sweet Home Yerushalayim”—with new lyrics penned by Ambassador Friedman.
The performance, symbolizing the enduring American-Israeli friendship, carried powerful meaning in light of recent events and the imminent homecoming of the hostages. The heartfelt music resonated as a collective prayer for unity, faith, and the safe return of all who were taken.
Eli Beer, President and Founder of United Hatzalah, said:
“Seeing Ambassador Huckabee and Ambassador Friedman personally perform ‘Am Yisrael Chai’ in Jerusalem—just before our loved ones return home from captivity—was a deeply emotional and unforgettable moment. It reflects the unbreakable bond between Israel and the United States, and the unwavering support our nation continues to receive. Their message of hope and unity inspired thousands in attendance and strengthened the families of the hostages, reminding us all of the power of standing together.”
