During a special visit to United Hatzalah’s headquarters in Jerusalem that took place on Monday, 10 Director-Generals of government offices toured the headquarters, met with both Jewish and Muslim volunteer first responders, and dedicated ten new ambucycles to EMTs and paramedics. The highlight of the visit was when the Director-Generals handed the keys to the new emergency vehicles to the drivers who will be using them to save lives. The vehicles were put into service immediately after the ceremony and the volunteers began responding to medical emergencies all over the country.

CEO of United Hatzalah Eli Pollack, together with Senior Vice President of Operations Dov Maisel and the head of the Government Relations Department of the organization Shabi Rappaport, welcomed the Director-Generals which included, Director-General of the Ministry of Communications, Liran Avisar Ben-Horin, Director-General of the Ministry of Social Equality Yael Mevorach, Acting Director-General of the Ministry of Justice Sigal Yakobi, Director-General of the Alternate Prime Minister’s office Hod Betzer,  Director-General of the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, and Social Services Dr. Avigdor Kaplan, Director-General of the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration Haviv Katzav, Director-General of the Ministry of Economy and Industry David Leffler, Director-General of the Ministry of Community Strengthening and Advancement Hagai Reznick, Director-General of the Ministry of Strategic Affairs Dr. Shai Har Zvi, and the Director-General of the Ministry of Tourism Amir Halevi.

The Director-Generals praise the efforts of the volunteers both during the Coronavirus pandemic and during regular times. The organization works hand-in-hand with many of these government ministries on a regular basis on a number of different projects.

President and Founder of United Hatzalah Eli Beer spoke about the importance of the visit and expressed his sadness at not being able to attend personally as he is currently working to further the goals of the organization abroad. “I am sad to have missed the opportunity to meet face-to-face with so many of the people whom we work closely with to ensure the safety of the residents of Israel. As an organization that works primarily to save lives in every Israeli community, this was a truly important visit in which 10 Director-Generals from different government ministries were able to come and learn first-hand about United Hatzalah, its activities, and meet the men and women who volunteer their time and give so much of themselves to save the lives of others. We will continue to work together with these government ministries and others to explore better ways to cooperate and coordinate our efforts for the betterment of all Israelis.”
