Thanks to the tremendous response to Mark and Erica Gerson’s $1 Million Match, an additional $1,000,000 match has just been announced by Mark and Erica and a private foundation between now and Monday, May 24th. These funds will help purchase additional protective vest and helmet sets for our volunteers as well as medical equipment to resupply the volunteers as they respond to an increase in emergency calls. The daily average number of emergency calls has increased to 3,000 per day, an increase of 70% from before.

The scene of one of the rocket attacks on Tuesday in Ashdod

United Hatzalah volunteers have treated hundreds who have been injured as a result of the rockets that landed in Ashdod and Ashkelon. Our Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit is also being dispatched, treating a number of people suffering from emotional or psychological shock and anxiety due to the rocket fire.

President and Founder of United Hatzalah Eli Beer said: “I am so proud that our Chairman and Board Members Rabbi Erica and Mark Gerson have stepped up to help during this critical time by offering a match to inspire people to support United Hatzalah volunteers.”
