Friends of United Hatzalah of Israel (www.israelrescue.org) announced today that Jay Leno, former host of The Tonight Show and Dr. Miriam Adelson will be headlining the 2nd Annual Los Angeles Gala, taking place on Thursday, February 27th at the Beverly Hilton. The Gala will feature Dr. Adelson as the keynote speaker at the event and Leno will be coming to honor the volunteers who respond to thousands of medical emergencies daily in Israel. More than 1,000 people are expected to attend the philanthropic event, including elected officials, civic figures and community leaders. The evening will pay tribute to the 6,000 volunteers around the country that are the core of United Hatzalah of Israel and the organization’s capabilities of providing service to an entire country around the clock – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year with an average response time of less than three minutes.

“We are very excited to be coming back to Los Angeles,” said President and Founder of United Hatzalah of Israel, Eli Beer. “The community there has been tremendous in supporting the lifesaving work that we do in Israel and we are happy to be able to provide them with this wonderful evening and another chance to partner with us in order to save lives in Israel.”

The organization will also be awarding several people to honor their efforts on behalf of lifesaving in Israel. Dina Aspen will be receiving the organization’s Pioneer Award for her efforts in creating new initiatives, and Nicolai Marciano who is also leading the host committee will be receiving the Young Leadership Award. Gala Co-Chairs are Sunny Sassoon, Maurice Marciano, Mitch Julis, David Nagel, Joe Kornwasser and Ron Simms. The Vice-Chair of the Gala is Candice Illoulian Beroukhim. Other members of the Host Committee include Elliot Julius and Ariel Richter.
