Planning a wedding is stressful for any family. It becomes even more difficult when someone deeply loved cannot attend because of serious illness or physical limitations.
That is where United Hatzalah’s Angels in Orange Ambulance steps in.
The specially equipped ambulance gives people facing severe illness or disability the opportunity to take part in the moments that matter most. With dedicated volunteers, specialized equipment, and full medical supervision, United Hatzalah helps families safely bring their loved ones to weddings, birthdays, family gatherings, and other meaningful occasions.
Recently, one family feared that their 95-year-old grandmother would be unable to attend her granddaughter’s wedding. She had been confined to a wheelchair for several years and could no longer move independently. Her son believed that bringing his mother to the celebration would be impossible and could place her life at risk.
Then United Hatzalah’s dedicated volunteers stepped in.
They met with the family, carefully planned every stage of the journey, and safely transported the grandmother to the wedding.
“Having my grandmother at my wedding is a joy that cannot be replaced,” said the bride before the ceremony. “I never imagined she would be able to join me beneath the chuppah, but here she is.”
The joy was shared by the entire family.
“I feel so blessed to be surrounded by my children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends,” said the grandmother, whose name is being withheld to protect her privacy. “To embrace and be embraced by the people I love is something I will always remember.”
United Hatzalah’s Angels in Orange not only help people attend major occasions such as weddings. Sometimes a wish may appear ordinary or even insignificant, but for someone facing a critical illness, it can mean everything.
Recently, a terminally ill woman asked to return to the beach she had visited as a child and watch the sun set over the horizon. With the support of the Angels in Orange, United Hatzalah safely transformed that wish into reality.
Whether it is standing beneath a chuppah, attending a family celebration or watching one final sunset, the Angels in Orange Ambulance help make life’s most precious moments possible.
