President and Founder of United Hatzalah, Eli Beer, met with Israeli Minister of Defense, Yoav Galant, in Gallant’s office in the Kirya in Tel Aviv late Wednesday night. While most of the topics discussed during the meeting cannot be revealed at this time, the two did discuss the heroic activities and lifesaving actions of hundreds of the organization’s volunteers that took place on October 7th. Beer revealed to the Minister graphic testimonies from the medical teams of United Hatzalah who provided first aid under fire following the harrowing massacre of Israeli civilians on Saturday, October 7th.

Minister of Defense, Yoav Galant said following the meeting: “I met with Eli Beer, the President of United Hatzalah, to thank him and all of the devoted volunteers in United Hatzalah, for everything that they have done since the beginning of the war and for everything that they are continuing to do. You saved many lives under fire while being attacked by murderers, and this is not taken for granted. We appreciate it very much.”

Eli Beer, President and Founder of United Hatzalah said after the meeting: “United Hatzalah stands in support of the State of Israel and we are available for any mission that is required to be done for its citizens, as we have done since our establishment and especially in these difficult days. United Hatzalah volunteers, Muslims, Christians, Jews, and more, who unite 365 days a year for the sake of saving lives, they are a symbol of the strength of the State of Israel during this difficult time. I am glad that the honorable minister understands how effective our volunteers are during routine everyday life, as well as during large-scale national emergencies.  I wish to thank Minister Gallant for taking his precious time to meet with me and hearing about the selfless activities of our volunteers in the field despite his many pressing engagements. His moving words greatly strengthened us, and we strengthen him in return.”
