Responsibilities:

  • Crafting compelling content for a wide range of communication channels, including writing and editing for our website, press releases, blog, social media, and marketing materials.
  • Translating and transcribing content from Hebrew to English.
  • Collaborating with team members and volunteers to capture content related to our emergency response services and community initiatives.
  • Conducting thorough research to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the information presented in the content.
  • Assisting in the management and implementation of content strategies to enhance our online presence and brand awareness.

Administrative Assistant, Office of the President, Jerusalem

Job Description

United Hatzalah is seeking a highly organized individual with excellent administrative skills, and communication expertise to fulfill a unique role in the Office of the President.

As the Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the president’s daily operations by providing general administrative support to the President, whilst working under the Director of the President’s Office ensuring that his day-to-day communications are in tow.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the President with ongoing administrative needs, including updating contact information, monitoring correspondence.
  • Transcribe voice notes, assisting in day-to-day communication with top donors and fellow UH staff.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the President, including managing his calendar, scheduling appointments. Assist in organizing and coordinating meetings.
  • Support the organization’s fundraising efforts by coordinating and sharing information with international staff.
  • Maintain and update databases, donor records, and contact lists.

United Hatzalah, Israel’s national volunteer emergency response organization, seeks a bilingual grant writer to work on the International Resource Development Team. This position encompasses the full grant cycle: research, Letters of Intent, proposals, reporting, and ongoing correspondence. This is a full-time position working at our Jerusalem office.

Responsibilities:

  • Research potential funding sources
  • Write grant applications based on organizational needs
  • Build program proposals, including budgets and measurable outcomes

Development Associate, Jerusalem

Job Description

United Hatzalah, Israel’s national volunteer emergency response organization, is seeking a Development Associate to work in our Jerusalem headquarters. This is a full-time position, reporting to the Director of Development, Israel Office. The primary responsibility will be to drive revenue through fundraising events in Israel, along with supporting the stewardship efforts of the International Resource Development Team. We are looking for someone who derives satisfaction from working for a non-profit organization and feels personally committed to United Hatzalah’s mission of saving lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop an annual calendar of local, regional, and international events – including parlor meetings, gala dinner, UH Bike Ride in Israel, Jerusalem Marathon, etc. – and oversee its implementation.
  • Identify hosts for parlor meetings; work with hosts to plan and execute event, including recruiting attendees, preparing agenda, speaking points, presentations, and materials
  • Research venues and identify sponsors for large-scale events (e.g., fundraising dinner); recruit table captains and work with committee members to maximize attendance of potential donors
  • Communicate with external vendors, e.g., caterers, entertainment
  • Oversee the production of invitations, marketing, registration of participants for international events (e.g., UH team for Jerusalem Marathon, Israel Bike Ride)
  • Maintain communication with donors and participants prior to (e.g., invitations, reminders) and following events (e.g., collection of donations, acknowledgements)
  • Strategize follow-up process for attendees, track gifts, measure progress toward financial goals of event and report to development team; evaluate events and draw lessons for future

Development Officer, Jerusalem

Job Description

United Hatzalah, Israel’s national volunteer emergency response organization is seeking a Development Officer to expand the portfolio of Israeli donors. This is a full-time position, based in our Jerusalem headquarters, reporting to the Director of Development.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and interact with executive-level management, government officials, volunteers, and international development staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors for United Hatzalah operational and capital projects.
  • Build a new Hebrew-speaking donor base throughout Israel, with a focus on gifts of NIS 18,000 or higher.
  • Communicate and support the vision, mission, and core values of United Hatzalah of Israel with existing and potential contributors, and the public at large.
  • Initiate and coordinate fundraising meetings, outreach events, and activities.
  • Develop and manage relationships with business and community leaders to support overall fundraising efforts.

Accounting and Compliance Specialist, Jerusalem

Job Description

The Accounting and Compliance Specialist will exercise a high level of accountability and will partner with global functional teams to ensure adherence to governmental rules and regulations, internal policies and procedures and industry standards, and maintaining financial records in an effective, accurate and timely manner. The position works collaboratively with staff across the international organization, and reports to the Director of Finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain financial activity within Israel for Canada and other international branches, including detailed data entry to ensure clear documentation of all transactions
  • Actively partner with Israeli finance department on programmatic needs for United Hatzalah programs managed by international branches including Canada
  • Manage international banking operations in Israel by accounting for all transactions and conducting relevant account reconciliations
  • Monitor transactions and procurements for proper due diligence and ensure compliance with relevant laws and internal policies
  • Review all invoices and payments for appropriate documentation and approvals
  • Maintain organized filing and recordkeeping systems for all financial transactions
  • Support Canada Director and other senior members of management to compile, analyze, and report financial data
  • Support external audits and information requests
  • Other finance/accounting duties as required

Qualifications:

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or comparable, with minimum 3 years’ related experience

We are currently seeking an Office Manager, reporting to the Director of Fundraising Operations. This full-time position, based in New York City will be responsible for coordinating and organizing all aspects of office operations in our NYC headquarters, ensuring high levels of organizational efficiency, communication, and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment.  The Office Manager will work closely with all departments and personnel to ensure the office is consistently running at optimum levels.  The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive and personable; a self-starter with a passion for Israel and our lifesaving mission.

Responsibilities:

Principal duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage New York office space and oversee facilities operations
  • Proactively manage accounts and relationships related to office and staff functionality, including but not limited to building management, insurance, telecommunications, supplies, technology, and corporate contracts

Major Gifts Officer, New York, NY

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Major Gifts Officer reporting to the Director of Development. This full-time position (3 days in office, 2 days remote) based in our New York City headquarters, will be responsible for maintaining and growing an existing portfolio in the New York catchment area. Communicating and supporting the vision, mission and core values of United Hatzalah of Israel into the Jewish community and with existing and potential contributors. Start date; early November 2023.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of major donors and prospects in the New York area, ensuring timely, appropriate, and meaningful donor engagement and solicitation.
  • Develop individual fundraising strategies that work for each unique donor, building a pipeline of donors who have potential to give larger gifts.
  • Coordinate donor meetings with key professional leadership.
  • Plan and execute major donor cultivation and stewardship activities/events.
  • Actively contribute to the development team by supporting colleagues, collaborating on projects, and sharing information.

Responsibilities:

The Development Officer will steward existing donors part of a National Portfolio of donors giving $10,000 and below to the organization

  • Retain and grow the United Hatzalah donor base
  • Engage in prospect/donor cultivation
  • Solicitation and stewardship of the donor portfolio
  • Effectively utilize the CRM platform in support of donor relationship management
  • Identify donors within the portfolio who have major gift capacity and develop an engagement strategy
  • Initiate and coordinate fundraising activities and meetings
  • Manage and develop lay leadership relationships to support overall fundraising efforts
