In a boost to its emergency response capabilities, four new state-of-the-art Mercedes-Benz ambulances have been delivered to United Hatzalah, Israel’s national volunteer-based EMS organization. Two ambulances were delivered from Germany on Monday, while the two remaining ones arrived today (Thursday). These vehicles, generously donated by the German vehicle manufacturer, will join the organization’s fleet, enhancing its capacity to respond to emergencies swiftly and efficiently.
The arrival of these ambulances comes in the aftermath of the events of October 7th, when hundreds of United Hatzalah volunteers responded to the massacres committed by Hamas and saved lives under fire. During this time and the following weeks, the organization deployed dozens of ambulances and other emergency vehicles to southern Israel to provide critical assistance.
The donation of these ambulances was made possible by The Nazarene Fund, an American non-governmental organization with a mission to rescue, rebuild, and restore the lives of persecuted individuals globally. The Nazarene Fund has covered the transportation costs of these vehicles to Israel, recognizing the devastation the attack by Hamas created and the destruction and loss of life from the ensuing war that has followed.
Upon arrival, the ambulances will undergo comprehensive equipment installation and branding processes, ensuring they meet United Hatzalah’s rigorous standards for emergency response. Subsequently, they will be strategically stationed in northern and southern Israel, contributing to the country’s preparedness for various war scenarios.
“The Nazarene Fund stands with Israel and desires nothing more than a swift resolution that brings peace to all those affected,” said David Jacobs, Executive Director of The Nazarene Fund. “We are committed to aiding those in crisis, and we are grateful to assist in a collaborative effort to provide four ambulances to join the United Hatzalah fleet in Israel. These ambulances will provide critical emergency assistance to those in need during times of war and for years to come. The Nazarene Fund remains dedicated to alleviating suffering during challenging times.”
“We are immensely grateful for the generous donation from Mercedes and the support of The Nazarene Fund,” said Dovie Maisel, Vice President of Operations of United Hatzalah. “Following the war, we ordered 35 more ambulances, four of which were donated by Mercedes-Benz, and The Nazarene Fund generously covered their transportation costs. These four ambulances will join our fleet of ambulances, which have been on high alert throughout Israel.”
